Doubles

Created in 1936 in Princess Town, Trinidad, Doubles is a nostalgic dish that lends resemblance to a Channa bhatura from India. Traditional Doubles consists of two split peas flour fried pitas (light, crispy and airy, similar to a bhatura), soft seasoned savoury Channa paired with an array of house-made chutneys and pepper sauce. The Channa is specially made to a soft, runny texture, with light spices and fresh Caribbean green herbs. Traditionally a street snack enjoyed all throughout the day. Now available as Gourmet Doubles: paired with an array of meat, curry chicken, curry goat, curry shrimp, jerk chicken, curry beef, stew beef, oxtail, and saltfish. Enjoy Wickeds Doubles Tray as a gourmet feast on the weekends: Channa, 2 meat curries, Tomato aloo, and bara.

If you have not tried the Doubles here you are missing out! Little clouds of heaven! I could eat them every day! Roti is delicious and full of flavour!

Great portion sizes at affordable prices. The interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting with music. It makes you feel like you’re on the island instead of Toronto. A hidden gem right near Hwy 401 & Victoria Avenue!

I really enjoyed going to this location for the bone in roti but the last encounter I had was very disappointing. I found hair cooked into the dalpuri roti skin and I have an extreme phobia against hair and the fact I ingested someone's hair definitely left me with anegative view especially when I called to inform the restaurant and didn't get a response. Please have your staff properly tie their hair and wear a more secure hairnet to avoid this happening again. If I was able to attach the photo I would.

A great little trini spot with some great food! Roger mooking rated it as a top spot and I can see exactly why it’s so goodThe ox tail was nice and meaty and the portions were awesome. The doubles are a must try. The poori that wraps the filling is so soft and the flavours from the roti wrapped around the curried filling are just something you have to experienceAlso got it with a side of mac n cheese pie which is basically a Mac n cheese baked with a nice crispy top from the cheese. And don’t skip out on the cole slaw. It completes the mealService was great. People were super friendly. Food can take a little longer to get your order, but I think it’s because they make the food from scratch and to orderThere is a parking lot, but with the strip mall full of amazing restaurants, it can get filled very quick.Great job overall

The food was good, but we had to wait roughly 15 minutes for our takeout order to be prepared ( one person ahead of us). We ended up dining in. The food was tasty. We ordered the Jerk chicken Supreme wrap and the oxtail with mac n cheese. The washroom could use some extra attention, hence the 4 stars for the atmosphere. Would eat here again!
We got Stew Oxtail and Boneless Jerk Chicken Rice Plates. This Stew Oxtail was BOMB, one of the best we have had, the Oxtail was meaty, fall-off-the-bone tender, flavourful, all that Gravy served with Rice and Peas, side Coleslaw, a MUST TRY! Boneless Jerk Chicken was mid, but still tender and flavourful, also served with Rice and Peas and Coleslaw! We are already eyeing some other items to try out next time!

Mar 2024: expanding menu means so much more options for customers. New menu items are on the way in early spring.I've bought repeatedly over the years and the food is usually good.July 2023: service and offerings have greatly improved. There is a significant step up in the service and food they are definitely worth a visit. Summer lunch specials and new items on the menu make it a desirable lunch location. The eat in area is clean and well organised. Menu keeps expanding.

Ok I have to say that this was one of Best tasting oxtail and rice I’ve had! The Flavour was amazing. The only issue I found was that It was not much meat For 20$also I found the coleslaw was extremely sweet But definitely go back,in the future I would ask for the macaroni pie Instead of coleslaw😉
