Founder and Executive Chef for Wicked Carib, Asif is the bold innovator heading up a team of approximately 12 Crew members and sous-chefs. Asif grew up in Etobicoke/Rexdale. His passion for culinary excellence started at an early age in his mom’s kitchen. He was the only one out of three siblings who would be in the kitchen with his mom. Even with a successful career in the sales industry, Asif always felt at ease when was in the kitchen. To him being in the kitchen put him at ease and an ultimate de-stressor. He wanted to do something that he was deeply passionate about and that started the journey to opening his first restaurant in 2020.
Now after surviving the COVID lockdown at the worst time of the millennium, he is managing his core Scarborough location and the new addition of Burlington location. Along with overseeing all culinary aspects of WICKED CARIB booth at Scotia Bank arena section 110 during all Raptors and Leaf game for the last three seasons. Also heading up the WICKED CARIB stall for 2024 season at BMO field North patio for all TFC/Argos games. Being a father of three there is never a dull moment during his days off. Asif enjoys spending quality time with his kids and of course he enjoys creating new memories at his home kitchen exploring the worlds cuisines.
