Visionary and Executive Chef Annie Khan, born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, grew up in central Trinidad, in the town of Chaguanas. From a young age she would follow her grand-mom downstairs at 4 am to start breakfast for the house and later grew up in the restaurant kitchen with her aunt and uncle. Watching traditional dishes being cooked, savouring and enjoying in the ancient cooking methods, and devouring the dishes when complete.
Annie holds two degrees, B. Admin from Humber College and B. Commerce from former Ryerson University. Working in the Telecommunications industry as an analyst for 5 years after graduation, while curating and cooking at home, and managing a Custom Cakes business.
Eventually the love for Caribbean food, the desire to be an entrepreneur led to the opening of their first restaurant Wicked Carib alongside her partner Asif Khan.
Annie co-manages the culinary experience at ScotiaBank Arena since 2021, newly launched Burlington restaurant location, and now apart of BMO Field 2024 game season for TFC/Argo games.
Apart from being a chef and entrepreneur, Annie enjoys spending time with her three children and her husband. The kitchen at home is always a place of enjoyment where she teaches her cooking methods with her children. Annie continues to be the driving force and visionary bringing creative, Caribbean culinary experiences to the Wicked Carib.
Founder and Executive Chef for Wicked Carib, Asif is the bold innovator heading up a team of approximately 12 Crew members and sous-chefs. Asif grew up in Etobicoke/Rexdale. His passion for culinary excellence started at an early age in his mom’s kitchen. He was the only one out of three siblings who would be in the kitchen with his mom. Even with a successful career in the sales industry, Asif always felt at ease when was in the kitchen. To him being in the kitchen put him at ease and an ultimate de-stressor. He wanted to do something that he was deeply passionate about and that started the journey to opening his first restaurant in 2020.
Now after surviving the COVID lockdown at the worst time of the millennium, he is managing his core Scarborough location and the new addition of Burlington location. Along with overseeing all culinary aspects of WICKED CARIB booth at Scotia Bank arena section 110 during all Raptors and Leaf game for the last three seasons. Also heading up the WICKED CARIB stall for 2024 season at BMO field North patio for all TFC/Argos games. Being a father of three there is never a dull moment during his days off. Asif enjoys spending quality time with his kids and of course he enjoys creating new memories at his home kitchen exploring the worlds cuisines.
